NanoWriMo has begun!

Well it actually began 10 days ago, but I’ve been so busy preparing and writing that I haven’t had a chance to write about it.

So what is NanoWriMo?

It’s a writing competition where you are given the 30 days of November to write 50,000 words. A difficult, yet doable task. The best part is the fact that you are helping a charity that raises money for youth and adult writing programs all over the world, and of course you end up with a completed (or very nearly completed) manuscript to edit and publish in the following year.

What do I get out of it?

Well prestige and the satisfaction that I was able to complete the tast. Not to mention a completed (or very nearly completed) manuscript to edit and publish in the following year.

I’m actually working on two books this year. My Gateway to Financial Freedom book and the fiction one I have been planning to write and still have no title for. I’ll tell you what though, it’s coming along better than I’d hoped. I’m really enjoying writing it and I’m sure you’ll really enjoy reading it.

Come by My NanoWriMo to keep track of my word count progress and cheer me on!

The Brand New Lionsong’s Den!

Well I finally got the new Lionsong’s Den up and running… and I’m loving it! It turned out better than I expected. Much more professional looking than my last site, I must say.

It still has most of the same elements as my old site:

Archives: Where you can read some of my short stories (the ones I bothered to type up anyway) and articles. I’ll also be posting links to my old blog posts there too.

Current Projects: Where you can read about the projects I’m currently working on, plus some ideas I have for possible future books/novels.

Contests: Which will be appearing more frequently and have some great prizes. There will be separate contests for people who love to read and those who love writing.

Of course there is my blog, which you are reading right now that is replacing my newsletter. It makes more sense to keep my readers updated through a blog rather than a quarterly newsletter. This way the news you’ll be hearing is always going to be recent and up to date!

I’ve updated my About Me page and it’s going to be a continuing work in progress… any time there is a major breakthrough in my writing career, I’ll be updating that page to reflect my current state.

My Events page has nothing on it at the moment, but in the future I will be using it to list appearance and book signing dates, and other events that I might be attending.

I’ve set up a great new Forum… much better than the last one. It still serves the same purpose as a place for readers and writers to come together and share their work (or read the work of the writers), talk about your favorite authors, and for writers to share tips that will improve their writing skills and learn more about publishing and marketing.

The home page will be updated regularly and will contain announcements to new additions and features on the website, my latest works available, new contest announcements, polls to participate in and more. So check back often and check my blog often too for new information and announcements. And most of all HAVE FUN! I really look forward to getting to know you all!

Oh and before I forget… if you have any suggestions for my website, forum or blog, I have a Suggestion Box where you can leave them.

New Beginnings!

My name is Naya Lionsong. I’m a self-published author, and I’ve been writing since 1995. I published my first book, The Force Within, back in 2006. Shortly after that I started researching ways to promote myself as a writer and my work. That’s when things started going downhill… I found myself swept up in one internet business after another until I was so overwhelmed that I lost sight of what I was doing on the internet in the first place.

So recently I’ve decided to drop everything and get back to my first love… Writing! Of course, I couldn’t let everything I’ve spent the last few years doing go to waste, so I decided to do what I do best and put it all into a book. It’s going to be called Gateway to Financial Freedom, and it’s going to focus on how people can take a hobby or interest that they love and turn it into a lucrative business on the internet.

Anyone can run their own business as long as they have the knowledge and skills necessary and that’s what this book will give everyone who reads it and work at it. You’ll learn how to register your business and business name, how to write and implement a business plan, how to build a website (or hire someone to do it for you), how to budget your money so that you can grow your business, how to market your business and more.

The best part about this book is I’ve decided to offer it for free (in ebook format). Why? Because after three years experience of dealing with internet marketers I’ve learned one thing… they may say they are trying to help you make money, but in the end they are only interested in putting money in the pocket of one person… and it’s not you! There are so many people out there trying to learn how to make money on the internet, but most of the information floating around is worthless.

I’ve got hundreds of ebooks that I’ve downloaded and not one of them has shown me in the least how I can make money on the internet. They tell me I can… they tell me what I should be doing… but they don’t tell me how to do it! If I want to learn that I have to buy their product, or join their program. Then once you do that, you get more of the same vague information that got you nowhere in their ebook or report.

So I decided to write an ebook that will take everyone who reads it step by step through the process of starting their own business. Then even better than that… offer them personal support through the process. And I’m offering it for free so that even people with no money to spare will be able to benefit from the book. I’ll be selling some business software that I use in the book to fund the work I’ve put into writing the book, but it’s not necessary to buy anything in order to benefit from the book. In other words… if you never buy anything from the book, you’ll still have the opportunity to come out at the end with a productive business as long as you’re willing to put in the time and do the work that is necessary to have a successful business.

I feel so elated that I was able to take the time that I missed out on writing over the last few years and turn it into a positive… I’ve also been inspired to revamp my entire website, so I’ll be releasing that soon (hopefully by the end of the week). It’s great to be on track again and to be refocused on what I do best!
